Hillstock - A DIY Music Festival

My amazing friend Terrence, whom I have known since my hazy days at NYU, invited us to his latest Brooklyn experiment - Hillstock, a DIY music festival right here in Brooklyn.  Hillstock itself was a 3 day event, taking place in various Brooklyn locations.  I only made it to Saturday's festivities, but I am so glad I did!  It was the perfect Brooklyn experience - consisting of 2 stages, 16 musical guests, a diverse audience, food, beer and of course, brown paper bags.  Each band performed a 30 minute set, which seemed like the perfect amount of time, that is until 6:30 came around, and Swear and Shake took the stage.  Their music translated into sunshine, and 30 minutes just wasn't enough.  I guarantee if you haven't heard of them, you will soon and you will be happy you did!

Since I had my camera out, some others things caught my eye.  Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.

Phishin' for the Weekend!

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts

Three day weekends are absolutely priceless, and this past Memorial Day was nothing less!  I was lucky enough to spend my time camping out near Bethel Woods with Phish tickets in hand.  I had the best view side by side with the best company!  If you have a chance to see a show here, please don't miss it!  The venue is beyond beautiful.  The fields go for miles, and there are even lawn chairs to rent (I promise, you will not regret it). Check out the link above to see their schedule!
